Salvetina is someone who strives to support and help better her community in any way possible.

Salvetina is a mum who wants the best educational experiences for children in her community. Her parents are retired teachers and she deeply understands the tremendous job teachers do.

Professionally, Salvetina is a Psychiatric Nurse and has experience in Media, Customer Service, and Music performance. She has a degree in Music and has volunteered in many areas serving her community, especially those in need. Salvetina is a critical thinker and has made recognizable life-saving decisions both at home and at work.

Salvetina loves music and dance, and has performed at different times singing in various musical bands. She believes in the power of music to create positive and connective experiences, especially for our kids' mental health in schools. Mental well-being is vital for our children to succeed. As a School Board Trustee, Salvetina would like to see:

• The empowerment of parents to be in charge of their child's education. The ability of parents to teach their children what is morally right according to their beliefs and values. Salvetina believes that parents and guardians play an integral role in their children's development, from cradle to graduation. Salvetina believes this important role must continue. As such, parents are to be involved every step of the way in decisions regarding their children's education, as they partner with schools. Parents should be confident to raise their children as prescribed by the law, in line with their faith, culture, and tradition.

• Transparency in the school system. When there is no transparency, there is distrust. Parents hold their children dear, and do not want to be left in the dark on any issues regarding them in school. As a School Board Trustee, Salvetina would like to see a trusting, transparent relationship between parents and schools when it comes to their child's education.

• Support for teachers. Teachers do a tremendous and under-appreciated amount of work in educating and supporting our children. As a School Board Trustee, Salvetina would support and improve resources for our teachers to make their jobs better in the difficult work they do.

• Support and respect for mosaic diversities. There is strength in diversity and each community deserves to be appreciated and heard. Salvetina would strengthen and support policies that respect mosaic values and traditions. She will support and help create initiatives to celebrate them to promote better relationships, understanding and appreciation. A strong cloth has many threads. She will ensure that parents can have confidence in a school system that respects their culture, beliefs, and values as they partner with schools in raising their children.
